James Edward Miracle Sr., 79, of Kokomo, Indiana, died at 11:22 am, Friday, December 1, 2023, at his home. He was born on January 3, 1944, in Harlan, Kentucky, to Brown and Cleo (Bourff) Miracle.
Jim was a graduate of Wabash High School. He married Sara Daniels in Wabash on February 26, 1966; she died August 2, 2022. Jim was the head custodian at Wabash City Schools retiring after 25 years. He lived in rural Wabash County several years before moving to Kokomo in 2015. Jim enjoyed cooking, making candy and banana nut bread. He also enjoyed taking care of his family and enjoyed working.
He is survived by two children, Alesia (Thomas) Whittaker of Kokomo, and James Edward (Gretchen) Miracle, Jr. of Bunker Hill, Indiana; five grandchildren, Ambre (Landon) Hayden of Logansport, Indiana, Joshua Brubaker of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jacob (Kasey) Brubaker of Liberty, Indiana, Cynthia Miracle of Indianapolis, and Savanna Miracle of Indianapolis, Indiana, and nine great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, December 4, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12:30-2:00 pm Monday, at the funeral home.
