James A. Endress

James A. Endress, 73, Warsaw, Indiana, passed away at 5:20 a.m. on November 4, 2019 at Mason Health Care, Warsaw. Born on November 19, 1945 in Wabash County, Indiana, James was the son of Charles and Martha (Lawrence) Endress.

After graduating with an Associates Degree, James started working maintenance for Kosciusko Community Hospital when it first opened and also worked maintenance at the Bowen Center in 1988 until he retired in 2005. Additionally, James was taught by his father the trade of being a gunsmith. For thirty years James worked on different firearms for people.

On October 2, 1976 James married the love of his life, Vicki L. Davis. The two were wed for nearly forty-two years before Vicki passed away on August 20, 2018. During their time together, James was a gentle soul who was thoughtful and kind, not only to Vicki but also to her sons who became his sons as well. His positive nature was infectious to those around him. Simply put, he brought out the best in everyone. James was a person who could have a conversation with anyone he met. He had a deep understanding and knowledge about him, but he was sincere and gracious to all, especially to his children and grandchildren. For fun, James relished in his time capturing the world through his camera. On Sundays James and Vicki would attend Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, where they were both members until their health declined and they were unable to attend.

James’s love and kindness will be forever remembered by his sons, Tom (Janet) White, Warsaw, Scott (Bonnie) White, Elkhart, Richard (Carolyn) White, Kendallville, and Jamie (Michele) White, Syracuse, Indiana; brothers, Thomas (Nancy) Endress, Bridgewater, Virginia and Richard (Sharon) Endress, Loganville, Georgia; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Vicki Endress.
