Jacqueline Ann (Jackie Case) Shrontz, 62, passed peacefully on January 21, 2023, surrounded by her family. Jackie was born June 22, 1960, in Marion, Indiana, to Jack E. and Judith K. Case. She lived most of her life in Marion.
Jackie was a kind, loving, and very giving person who would help anyone. She was the founder of Donations, which was an organization she ran from her front porch. She started Donations when she realized that many young parents she knew didn’t have or couldn’t afford the things they needed for their children. People would donate things like Formula, baby food, diapers, clothes, and numerous other things. She would then post on Facebook that she had these items. People could just stop by her porch and take what they needed. Jackie enjoyed making homemade noodles, doing crafts, and doing Diamond Art. However, what Jackie loved doing the most was spend time with her grandkids–Isaac, Jared, Arianna, Laila, Shealeigh, Ava, and Olivia.
Jackie is survived by a son, Michael Hayes of Gas City; daughter, Kayla Hayes of Marion; siblings, Karen (James) Gerstorff of Iowa, Donna (Danny) Harrell of LaFontaine, Kelly (Mike) Timmerman of Somerset, Denise Taylor of Marion, and Scott (Angie) Powell of LaFontaine; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Shrontz; sister, Cynthia Blakely; and niece, Caitie Timmerman.
The family would like to thank the staff of Rolling Meadows Nursing Home and Heart to Heart Hospice for taking such good care of Jackie.
Per Jackie’s request, there will be no visitation. A private burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riley Children’s Hospital, 30 S. Meridian St., Ste. 200, Indianapolis, IN 46204-3509 in honor of her granddaughter, Arianna, who is a cancer survivor because of them.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
