Jack Lee “Cookie” Cook

Jack Lee “Cookie” Cook, 69, Kokomo, passed away on April 12, 2022 at home. The son of Elmer and Madora (Hood) Cook, Jack was born February 9, 1953 in Kokomo, Indiana.

After graduating from Kokomo High School in 1971, Jack served in the Air Force for four years as a military police sergeant and then served another eight years as a nurse for the US Army. While in the military, he earned a Business Management degree from Ivy Tech. Jack loved his country and was proud to serve in any way he could. After his service, he continued to work for the military as a civilian contractor providing transport throughout many different military bases in Qatar.

From 1982 to 2014, Jack lived in Aurora, Colorado. He was an avid Broncos fan and deeply cherished his time spent in the mountains. He worked as an independent contractor at Service Employees International Incorporated and was a former bus operator at Kellogg, Brown, & Root Incorporated.

Jack was an active member of AA, helping many members after he reached sobriety. He was 36 years sober and knew the importance of the organization’s care and support.

The loving memory of Jack Cook will be forever cherished by his daughter, Tabitha (Lowill) McKinney, North Manchester; sisters, Sharon Freed, Minnesota, and Jeri Black, Kokomo; grandchildren, Jessica (Lucas Titus) McKinney, Logansport, Brandon (Lydia Combs) McKinney, North Manchester, and Nack Paddock. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Madora (Hood) Cook; wife, Janelle Cook, and brothers, Herald Cook, and Ronnie Cook.

Family and friends may call Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate.
