Ivory Joe Jackson

Ivory Joe Jackson, 70, of Marion, passed away at 3:31 am on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne. He was born in Lake Providence, Louisiana, on April 10, 1951, to Willie Lee Jackson, Sr., and Maude (Fuller) Jackson. On March 31, 1975, he married Marjorie Ann Levi, and she preceded him in death on February 19, 2021.

Joe graduated from GW Griffin High School in Lake Providence, Louisiana, in 1969 and then served in the United States National Guard. Following his military service, Joe had worked at several factories, ending his career as an industrial electrician.

Joe was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Marion, where he volunteered as an usher. He enjoyed playing Dominoes with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to the gun range and tending to his yard. More than anything, Joe loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, Joshua Jackson of Marion, Greg (Danielle) Taylor of Indianapolis, Von (Serafina) Jackson of Marion, Dedrick Jackson of Indianapolis, and Eberaia Fields of Logansport; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Earl (Lois) Jackson of Marion, Rolland Herbert (Keisha) Jackson of Marion, Mitchell Terry (Cathy) Jackson of Monroe, LA, Curtis Louis (Helen) Jackson of Monroe, LA, and Darrell D. (Brenda) Jackson of Marion; sister, Marion (Carnel) Standifer of Monroe, LA; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his loving wife of 45 years, Joe was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lee Jackson, Sr.; mother, Maude Jackson; daughter, Tikisha Ann Jackson; brothers, Willie Lee Jackson, Jr., Limmie Charles Jackson, and Howard James Jackson; and sisters, Eloise Jackson and Cora Lee McNair.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1204 W. 14th St., Marion, IN 46953.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Joe’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Rev. C.L. Adams officiating. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity in Marion.
