Indiana State Fair organizers on Wednesday announced this year’s theme “Step Right Up! To the Greatest 17 Days of Summer.” With the area’s rich circus heritage that dates back to the 1800’s including Peru being home to the Circus Hall of Fame, State Fair spokeswoman Sharon Smith said, “It’s really a great opportunity for us to celebrate that.” The fair will showcase a world-class circus complete with acrobats, clowns and trapeze artists. The Indiana State Fair opens August 3rd and runs until August 19th.
