Idella Mae Gard, 92, of Warren, IN, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at her home in Warren, IN. She was born on Wednesday, December 1, 1926, in Huntington Co., IN to Walter F. & Louetta E. (Caley) Campbell. She married Robert J. Gard on Sunday, July 10, 1949 in Warren, IN; he passed away on June 1, 2009. Idella attended Warren High School. She formerly worked at Morrison’s Restaurant and retired from Heritage Pointe (United Methodist Memorial Home) both in Warren. She was a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors: Daughter – Carol (Dennis) Weber, Liberty, IN, Daughter – Cheryl Hunnicutt, Ligonier, IN, Son – Michael Gard, Warren, IN, Brother – Harold (Louise) Campbell, Warren, IN, Brother – Von Clevenger, Warren, IN, Sister – Becky Myers, Ft. Wayne, IN, 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her: Father – Walter F. Campbell, Mother – Louetta E. (Caley) Campbell, Husband – Robert J. Gard, Sister – Maxine Surfus, Sister – Opal (Ben) Sturd, Sister – Marcella Davis, Sister – Patricia Wolf, Sister – Wynette Sands, Sister – Evelyn Coppock, Brother – Walter Campbell, Brother – James Campbell and Sister – Sandra Campbell.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N. Matilda St. Warren on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 11 AM to 1 PM. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 1 PM with nephew Kent Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren.
