Howard “Gino” Columbus

Howard “Gino” Columbus, age 65 of Marion passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Gino was born in 1955 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late George and Thelma (Aul) Columbus.  He was the owner of the used Furniture Store at Home Corner in Marion, and also an entrepreneur. 

Gino was the Chess Champion at McCulloch Junior High for three years.  He also won several billiards tournaments.  He loved playing basketball and thought he was a Globetrotter!  Gino also enjoyed playing video games with his sons.  He was known as “Mr. Fix-It” and when something broke, everyone called him!

He is survived by two sons, Brandon (Elizabeth) Columbus and Michael (Mindy) Columbus, both of Marion; a daughter, Zaige Miller of Gas City; fiance’, Lisa Montgomery and her four daughters; a brother, George (Judy) Columbus of Marion; two sisters, Linda (George) Kitts of Marion and Diana (Steve) Bingman of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren, Alyssa and Andrew Columbus.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 am. To 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
