Helen Marie Williams, 89, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 7:58 am, Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Parkview Wabash Hospital. She was born on May 10, 1934, in Roann, Indiana, to Isaac and Zella (Reed) Miller.
Helen married Manley “Gene” Williams in Patoka, Indiana on May 11, 1952; he died October 6, 2002. Helen worked at Singer/Controls in North Manchester, Indiana 34 years, retiring in June 1999. She was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Wabash. Helen enjoyed making quilts and loved her family and anything John Wayne.
She is survived by six children, Elmer E. (Bev) Williams of Roann, Indiana, David L. (Jennifer) Williams, Sam J. (Margaret) Williams, Richard C. Williams, and Lisa D. (Howard) Goshert, all of Wabash, and Jim (Christine) Williams, of Flora, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Jared (Jill Inlow) Williams, Shawn Williams, Ashley Hardcastle, Jacob Williams, Serena Williams, Tara (Wes) Haines, Julie (Paul) Cundiff, Russell (Rebecca) Lakin, and Joseph (Sandy) Lakin; 11 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, James Miller, Meredith Miller, Charles Miller, Robert Miller, and Gene Miller, two sisters, Emma Coolman, and Sara Viola Smith, and half sister, Florence Tyson.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Robb Rensberger officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Logansport, Indiana. Friends may call 4-7 pm Monday, June 5, 2023, at the funeral home.
