Harry C. McCord, Jr., 86, Marion, passed away in his home on Thursday, September 29, 2022. He was born in Anderson, Indiana, on Saturday, January 18, 1936, to Harry and Cora (Allen) McCord. On July 14, 1957, he married Florence Cross, and she survives.
Harry graduated from Summitville High School and worked as a machine attendant with RCA. He was a member of Sweetser Wesleyan Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher. He was a camp counselor for kids and spent 20 years serving with Christian Youth Crusaders. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, and camping.
Along with his wife, survivors include his sons, Thomas (Dorinda) McCord of Somerset and Richard McCord of Marion; grandsons, Anthony McCord, Marcus McCord, Adam McCord, and Eric Olsen; granddaughters, Kellie McCord and Andrea Olsen; and great-granddaughters, Haven, Rayna, Halli, and Rhori.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Cora McCord, Sr.; great-grandson, Christopher; one sister; and four brothers.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Harry’s life will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at North Chapel. Don Miller will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
