Gregory Jason Cole, 41, Marion, passed away at Marion General Hospital at 12:22 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. He was born in Marion on May 2, 1977, to the late Gregory Joseph Cole and to Cheryl James Anthony.
Greg was a graduate of Oak Hill High School and worked in retail. He was a big Star Wars fan, and he loved super heroes and movies, as well as playing video games and D&D (Dungeons and Dragons). Greg loved art, drawing, and music, and he enjoyed playing soccer and watching sports, especially the Indianapolis Colts. Greg will be remembered for how much he loved his family and spending time with them. He was a member of Sunnycrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Cheryl (Lynn) Anthony, Marion; son, Austin Cole, Marion; siblings, Brandon (Jessica) Anthony, Clearwater, FL, Trisha (Brad) Whiteley, Speedway, Ryan Weimer, Columbus, OH, Sarah (Tim) Gibson, Indianapolis, Drew (Kristen) Damon, CA, and Lynde (Micah) Weiland, Carmel; several nieces and nephews; cousins, Kristen, Laura, Bill, Jenni, and Bri; maternal grandmother, June James; step-mother, Debbie Cole; and step-grandparents, Donna (Dwight) Anthony.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Joseph Cole; maternal grandfather, Bill James; paternal grandparents, Johanna (Samuel) Cole; and uncle, Bill James.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Greg’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Pastor Troy Bishop will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
