Gregory Alan Hoffman

Gregory Alan Hoffman, 73, passed away at 1:19 am Monday, January 1, 2024 at Solaris Healthcare, in Punta Gorda, Florida.  Greg was born on August 24, 1950 in Wabash, Indiana to the late Larden V. and Jean K. Hoffman.  He graduated from Wabash High School in 1968 and attended Tri State University in Angola, Indiana.  Greg served in the United States Air Force Reserves for 6 years.  He worked at Custom Cartons, Inc., a family-owned business, in Wabash for 47 years, retiring in 2013.  

Greg was an avid golfer his entire life and shot 4 holes-in-one through the years.  He even won 1st place in his flight in the World Amateur Golf Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2010.  

Greg met the love of his life, Nancy Walker, on a dance floor in Wabash in December of 1979 and they married in May 1980, dancing their journey through life together for 43 years.  Their journey was filled with travel, adventures, playing cards, golfing and spending time with family and friends.  They were snowbirds in Punta Gorda beginning in 2012, becoming full time Punta Gorda residents in 2022.  

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Nancy E. Hoffman, his daughter Cari Ann Carmichael (husband Christopher) of Fort Wayne, Indiana and son Dan Corns (wife Jessica) of Hobe Sound, Florida, and grandchildren, Kaya, Tala and Mara Carmichael and Sydney and Savanna Corns.  Greg is also survived by his 2 sisters Mary (Robin) Lemberger of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Laurie (late husband Ray) Osborne of Panama City Beach, Florida, and several extended family members.

A celebration of life will be 4-7 pm Saturday May 25, 2024 at the Wabash Elks Lodge.  For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Greg’s name to the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County Florida or to the Wabash County Animal Shelter in Indiana.
