George R Ludlow,84, Gas City, passed away at his residence on Friday, December 31, 2021. He was born in Columbus Grove, Ohio, on February 27, 1937, to Robert and Lavonna (Unger) Ludlow.  On February 24, 1962 , he married Joyce Haughawout in Fostoria, Ohio.

He graduated from high school in Fostoria, Ohio then went to further his education at Finley College in Ohio and later received his Master’s from Bowling Green University in Ohio.

George was a teacher and swim coach for several years. He was the Executive Director with the YMCA in both Monroe, Michigan and Silver Bay, New York. He then moved to Gas City and became an implement dealer.

George loved working outdoors and in his pole barn. He also enjoyed the fellowship at the gray barn in Upland. He was an avid Ohio State University Fan.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ludlow of Gas City; daughter, Karen (Jay) Worrell of Marion; son, Bruce Ludlow of Fairmount; grandchildren, Alison Ludlow, Matthew (Jessica) Worrell, Megan Worrell, Morgan (Bryan) Babb, Taylor (Ryan) White, Claire Ludlow, and Tanner (Maria) Ludlow; great-grandchildren, Liam Worrell, Lanie Worrell, Maren Babb, Myles Babb, and Luke Ludlow; step-grandchildren, Kara Gilmore and Aaron (Jill) Gilmore; and sister, Marilyn (James) Dewyre

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jerry Ludlow, Bradley Ludlow; and sister, Janice Wolfarth.

The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a memorial service to celebrate George’s life will begin at 3:00 pm with Pastor Paul Bowen officiating.
