George E. Worden, 69, of Peru passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, at his daughter’s home.
He was born October 19, 1954, in Peru, IN to Clarence Worden and Margaret Ellen Elizabeth (Jones) Worden. George was the youngest of nine children. He had five brothers and three sisters. He married Darlene S. Sanders on February 29, 1984.
George served in the Army as a Cav Scout for four years and 3 months. He was honorably discharged on February 8, 1984 then went into the Army Reserves until 1991.
George really enjoyed watching football, basketball and Nascar. He was a member of the Literary Aid and the VFW. He was a very social person and enjoyed hanging out at the local bars. George loved playing pool at his favorite bars. George was all about his brothers and sisters and always visited them when he could. They loved to go camping together.
After his marriage with Darlene Sanders, he adopted her son Steven T. Sanders. Darlene and George had a daughter Andrea R. Worden born on July 28, 1985. Steven married Lilianna and had two children. Andrea married Jeff. Jeff has two children and two grandchildren. Andrea has four children. George has six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at Marion Memorial Cemetery, 1101 S Lincoln Blvd, Marion, IN, from 11 am to 11:30 am.
