Frank H. Gotschall

Frank H. Gotschall, 80, Converse, went to be with the Lord at 3:47 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion.  On December 21, 1937, Frank was born in Wabash to the late Chester and Lea Pauline Gotschall.  Frank married Mary Lou Davis on June 29, 1985, and she preceded him in death on January 7, 2018.

After his high school graduation, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the National Guard.  Following his military service, he worked at Chrysler, where he retired after several years of service as a millwright.  He also farmed the family land in Huntington County for many years.  Additionally, Frank was a member of the Old Boys Toys and Antique Tractor Club, where he had served as a past president.  He enjoyed restoring antique tractors, riding his motorcycle, traveling, and farming.  Frank will be remembered as a straight-forward man.  He was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his first wife, Marthena Dunham, Marion; sons, Jeff (Jodi) Gotschall, Marion, and Steve (Christa) Gotschall, Marion; grandchildren, Ariel, Tyson, Hayley (fiancé Ben), Jessica, and Katrina (fiancé Kyle); great-grandchildren, Tucker, Ava, Easton, and Rowyn; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Also preceding him in death was his sister, Millie Ludwig.

The family will receive visitors from 12 noon to 2 p.m. with Frank’s funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018, Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.  Rev. Rob Barton will be officiating with burial following at Thrailkill Cemetery in Swayzee.
