First Night Of Honeywell Center’s Plaza Music Series Draws 250

WABASH,Indiana – Over 250 people attended the first show of the 2016 Plaza Music Series outside on the Honeywell Center’s plaza on Thursday afternoon. The series occurs every night in June starting at 5 pm and usually running until 7. Last Thursday, the Marion band Carmichael rocked the stage with their combination of alternative county, rockabilly and American roots music.

Ellen Mock, Corporate Relations Manager for the Honeywell Foundation, said that 250 attendees especially on the first night of the series is a good turnout. The big Patriotic Pops event, which happens on June 30th, will end the Plaza Music Series once again this year with a literal bang. Mock said that around 1,000 people attended that show last year inside the Ford Theater as a kick-off of the July 4th holiday. Ellen Mock.

In addition to Patriotic Pops, future performances include Island Vibe on June 9th, Sparrow 5 on June 16th, and Time Travelers on June 23rd.

Barry and Diana Cochran and their dog come all the way from Huntington to attend each one of the shows on the plaza and Barry tells us why.

Diana Cochran told MiBash News that they look forward to coming into town every Thursday night in the month of June. Carmichael, the band playing the plaza Thursday night, brought a number of fans in from Marion General Hospital to hear the mostly original music the band plays. Singer and bass player, Lindsay Harness.
