Eldon Edwin Biehl

Eldon Edwin Biehl, 95, of rural North Manchester, Indiana, died at 9:38 pm, Friday, May 26, 2023, at his home after a short illness. He was born on January 28, 1928  in Wabash County to Leroy and Cleo Molly (Garber) Biehl.

Eldon was a 1947 graduate of Urbana High School.  He married Martha Jane Stouffer in Wabash, Indiana on June 11, 1950; she died September 11, 2012. He was known for his carpenter skills in making and repairing most anything. He worked at Cyclone in Urbana for a short time after high school and then with the Farm Bureau Lumber Yard for 46 years. He farmed in his spare time. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church for his entire life. He was also a longtime member and former treasurer of the Urbana Lions Club. In his most recent years, he enjoyed working puzzles, and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren at his home with the help of his weekly caregivers.

He is survived by 4 children, Larry (Donna) Biehl of West Lafayette, Indiana, Dennis (Barbara) Biehl, Marilyn (Darrell) Penrod, and Donna Penrod, all of North Manchester; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, brother, Max (Anna Lee) Biehl and sister, Nancy Chamberlain, both of Urbana, and his sister-in-law, Linda Biehl of Wabash.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years, Martha; brother, Arden Biehl; sister, Lois Roser, and brother-in-laws, Don Roser and Max Chamberlain.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Luke Hunt and Rev. Bob Clark officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia. Friends may call 4-7 pm Wednesday, and 9-10 am Thursday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are Salem United Methodist Church or Urbana Lions Club.
