Wabash Cultural District to be celebrated with Wabash Native Zachariah Smith

WABASH, IN- Celebrating its 2-year anniversary since the 2021 designation, the Wabash Cultural District will be the focus of June’s First Friday in Downtown Wabash on June 2 from 5-8 p.m.

As part of the Wabash Cultural District Celebration on First Friday, Zachariah Smith, one of the top five contestants from American Idol’s latest season, will host a meet and greet on Miami Street. First Friday-goers are invited to meet Smith with a chance for free photos, $1 autographs, entry to win tickets to his concert on June 3 at the Honeywell Center and merchandise available for purchase.

“I’m so excited about coming back to not only Wabash, but the surrounding areas,” Smith said. “I can’t wait to see everyone before the big concert on Saturday and I also can’t wait to be a part of this big tradition that we hold in our community.”

More First Friday fun will include Paint the Plow, an annual hands-on art experience for the whole family presented by the City of Wabash Street Department, taking place on Miami Street. The Wabash First Friday Vendor Market will make its inaugural debut at Wabash City Hall with community vendor booths, independently owned businesses and food vendors. In honor of the Wabash Cultural District and the third year of Honeywell Arts Academy at Eagles Theatre, Honeywell Arts & Entertainment is inviting First Friday goers to take advantage of “Be Our Guest,” a complimentary ticket opportunity to enjoy three, world-class performances by Honeywell Arts Academy scholars in June.
