EG Roberts, 72, of Marion, passed away at 7:47 am on Thursday, January 6, 2022, in his home. He was born in Preston, Mississippi, on June 24, 1949, to Ezell and Girtha (Turner) Roberts. He married Clora “Louise” Webb, and she survives.
EG worked as a machine cleaner for 38 1/2 years with General Motors in Marion, retiring in June of 2008.
EG enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he had a love of the outdoors. He also liked hot rods and going to car shows. EG cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife, Louise, survivors include his daughters, Wanita “Lynn” (Harold Williams) Webb of Marion and Crystal Roberts of Marion; son, Martin F. “Mark” Roberts of Marion; granddaughters, Malaysia A. Webb, Fushia Roberts, Alexus Roberts, Nadika Alfaro, and Trinidi Alfaro; grandson, Martin F. (Veronica) Roberts, II; great-grandsons, Maurice, Ajai, and Novah; sisters, Ella McIntosh, Ruth (Shump) McIntosh, and Jean (Albert) Griffin; plus several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ezell Roberts; mother, Girtha Roberts; sister, Cora Gamble; and brothers, Willie Roberts and Ben Roberts.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at New New Bethany Church of God in Christ, 2801 S. Carey St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate EG’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Alex Huskey officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
