On June 20, 2023, Dylan Wayne Diskey, age 31, went to be with the Lord and his grandparents. He was born on February 22, 1992, to Stacie (Diskey) Courtney of Marion, Indiana. On August 20, 1999, he gained a father he always wanted–Anthony Lee Courtney, who loved him like his own.
Dylan had a heart of gold. There was not a stranger he didn’t know. He would do anything and everything for anyone, and he would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed working on motorcycles, cars, and trucks. You name it, he was doing it. He enjoyed reading, with his favorite book being “The Art of War”. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Dylan is survived by his parents, Anthony (Stacie) Courtney; sons, Jvin Lee and Kayleb Wayne; daughter, Aria Jayde; sisters, Brittney Heinlen of Kentucky, Sierra Courtney, Mariah (Zack Smith) Courtney of Marion, Mindy Foster of Fort Wayne, and Brandy Martin of Swayzee; grandmother, Phyllis Rankin of Georgia; grandfather, Ora Wilson of Hartford City; aunts, Edina (Steven) Miller of Gas City, Kari (Mario) Aguilar of Elkhart, Shannon Watkins of Warsaw, and Kelly Jean Linderman of Indianapolis; uncles, Anthony Diskey of Swayzee, Clayton (Donna) Diskey of Georgia, and Victor (Deanna) Courtney of Wabash; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; his second adoptive family, Robert (Charlene) Gallaway; best friend/brother, Russell (Sierra Dailey) Gallaway and Lakelyn, Tyler, and Bentlee; godfather, Jerry Boucher; and his beloved cat, Bella.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marion Wilson; grandfather, Darrell Rankin; grandparents, Donald (Margaret) Courtney; great-grandparents, Edward (Vivian) Diskey, Marlon Ward, and Bobbie Hamilton; uncles, Edward Diskey, Hoyt Olsen, and Shane Ward; and best friend/cousin, James Walls.
The family will receive visitors from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Dylan’s life will begin at 4:00 pm. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Thrailkill Cemetery.
