Drusilla M. “Druie” Jones, age 79, of Huntington, went to be with her Lord Friday, June 8, 2018, at 3:15 pm at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Druie graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1957. She worked as a child care provider for 41 years, and as church secretary. She was the founder of Shepherds Closet at the former Good Shepherd United Brethren Church while she was a member there. She was currently a member of Huntington First Church of the Nazarene.
Druie was born March 6, 1939, in Silver Creek, Nebraska, the daughter of Archie and Thelmarie (Metzer) Hunter. On May 26, 1957, she married her beloved husband of 61 years Edwin D. Jones in Silver Creek, NE. He survives in Huntington. Also surviving are a son Allan (Cheryl) Jones of Waynedale, a daughter Diane Burcham of Huntington, 5 grandchildren Nekoma Burcham of Greenwood, Leah Wansley of Sylacauga, AL, Crystal (Tim) Kohler of Huntington, Chad (McKenzie) Jones of Fort Wayne, and Rachel Jones of Waynedale, 7 great-grandchildren, and a sister Dora Marie Smith of Laguna Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by a brother William Charles Hunter.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 from 11 am to 1 pm at Deal-Rice Funeral Home-Huntington Chapel preceding the funeral at 1 pm. Pastor Bobby Kemp of Huntington First Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Inurnment will be in Gardens of Memory at a later date.
