Drug Take Back Day Saturday, April 29th

INDIANA, Ind. – The Indiana State Police (ISP) is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Adminisration (DEA) and the Indiana Prescription Drug Abuse Task Force for the 13th Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 29th, from 10am and 2pm. The “Take Back” initiative seeks to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal of prescription drugs. The collection sites will be set up for expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs which will be properly disposed of without threat to the environment. This program is for liquid and pill medications. Needles, new or used, will not be accepted for disposal. This service is free and anonymous with no questions asked. This Saturday from 10am to 2pm the drugs may be dropped off at any ISP Post, except for the Toll Road Post. The ISP Peru Post is located at 1451 N. Eel River Cemetary Rd.. The Peru Police Department, located at 35 S. Broadway, will also be collecting prescription drugs this Saturday in the main lobby drop box.
