Douglas D. Smith, age 60, of Roanoke, passed away early Friday, August 24, 2018 at his home. He was an Army veteran and a member of the 82nd Airborne Association. He received his Bachelor of Science from Ball State University.
Doug was born December 2, 1957, in Monroe, Wisconsin, the son of Thurman Ray and Frances Vivian (Bear) Smith. He is survived by his two sisters Janet (William) Symons and Carolyn Smith both of Roanoke, four brothers Thomas (Alice) Smith of Indianapolis, Gerald Smith of Wisconsin, Mark Smith of Utah, and Gene (Dawn) Smith of Evansville, IN, and two nephews Marcus (Alicia) Symons and Lawrence (Rochelle) Symons. He was preceded by his parents.
