Dee Dee was born in Owensville, Kentucky on March 15, 1955. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones on July 1, 2018 in Marion General Hospital.
Dee Dee graduated from high school and continued her education in nursing. In 1984 she came to Marion. Before becoming disabled she had worked as a waitress and bartender at local restaurants including Cafe 37 and South Side Diner. In her free time she enjoyed playing computer games, BINGO, rummage sales and surfing Facebook getting all her friend’s news. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Jason C. (Heather) Hawkins, Matthews; Angelia N. (Joe) Norton, Marion; two brothers, Terry E. Toy and Jerry Lee Toy, both of Marion; daughters-in-law, Kimberly Manuel, Marion; Meredeth Stahlman, Missouri; dear friends, Vivian Morales, Florida; David McMillian, Marion Patti Sevier, Marion; grandchildren, Mya, Myriah, Cassie, Cierra, Aaliya “Boogie,” Taylor, Jordyn, Destiny, Zalia, Izaria, Serena, Shayla, Brandon, Peyton, Noah, Collin, Luca, Jacob and Liam; great-grandchildren, Remington, Paxton and Brody.
Dee Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Helen (Howard) Toy; sons, Jamie M. Carter and Brandon Lee Burnham.
Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Estates of Serenity Cemetery, Marion with Chaplain Darryl Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30am-12:30pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana.
