Doris A. Rogers

Doris A. Rogers, 86, Marion, met her Lord and Savior at 5:29 am on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Thursday, September 16, 1937, to Ervin and Jane Roth.  On June 30, 1956, she married the love of her life and best friend, Tony W. Rogers, who survives.  

Doris graduated from Marion High School in 1956. She was a secretary for both the Marion Water Works and Ross Supply. She attended Grace Community Church.

Doris loved to do crafts and had attended many craft shows over the years. She also enjoyed shopping and going to rummage sales. Doris was a wonderful cook, and she enjoyed cooking for her family, especially at Christmas time. She had a great sense of humor and shared many laughs with friends and family over the years. More than anything, Doris was devoted to her family as a loving wife of 68 years, a wonderful mother, and an adoring grandmother.  

In addition to her loving husband, Tony Rogers, survivors include her daughters, Sandy Rogers Kimmel of Marion and Shelly Rogers of Swayzee; son, Tony W. Rogers, II, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Dr. Eric R. Kimmel of Fort Wayne, Lyndsay (Jake) Stratton of Indianapolis, and Tony W. Rogers, III, of Indianapolis; brother, Dr. Charles (Toni) Roth of Montreal, Canada; sister, Judy Fitzgerald of Shelbyville; several nieces, nephews, and friends; her beloved dog, Sadie; plus her ladies card club and church friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant daughter, Linda Rogers.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Doris’ life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating.  Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.

At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
