Donna R. Wigner, 92, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 11:05 am on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Parkview Huntington Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, September 21, 1931, to Ernest and Mildred (Kaylor) Helm. On June 30, 1950, she married Roland E. Wigner, and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2001.
Donna was first and foremost a believer in her Christian faith. She often watched services streamed on Sunday mornings, especially from Sunnycrest Baptist Church in Marion. Donna enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting, and especially enjoyed making baby blankets for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. More than anything, Donna loved seeing her family grow over the years, and appreciated the time she spent with them.
Survivors include her son, Donald D. (Cynthia) Wigner of Huntington; grandsons, Thomas A. (Jill) Wigner and Andrew J. (Brandi) Wigner; granddaughters, Angela K. (Andrew) LaMar and DeeAnna L. Wigner; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Marlee, Chloe, Spencer, Penelope, Olivia, and Nevaeh; sisters, Wilma (Joseph) Austin and Carol (Late Ron) Mowery; brother, Mike Helm; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Leroy Helm; mother, Mildred (James) Eastes; husband, Roland E. Wigner; infant daughter, Ronda Gail Wigner; son, Douglas Wayne Wigner; and sister, Doris Ann Jones.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate Donna’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Fairmount.
