Dixie A. Lloyd

Dixie A. Blades Lloyd, 74, Marion, passed away at 2:43 pm on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Wednesday, June 25, 1947, to Robert “Bob” and Juanita (DeHoff) Blades.

Dixie had worked at Magna Tech and United Technology, both in Huntington, prior to her employment at Marion General Hospital, where she worked in housekeeping. She was a member of Greater New Light Baptist Church. Dixie loved to go to rummage sales, as well as spend time with her grandchildren. She cherished her friends and family.

Survivors include her mother, Juanita “Jean” Blades; daughter, Ginger Elaine Lloyd Westbrook of Marion and Lisa Ann Lloyd McClung of Marion; sons, Lawrence “Larry” (Ronda) Lloyd, III of Marion and Monty Allen Lloyd of Marion; grandchildren, Maurice Westbrook, Rickie (Yuliana) Westbrook, I’Jeanna Westbrook, Nikeeta (Antonio) Westbrook, Jennifer (Terrell) Westbrook Hutchinson, Sandy Christopher, Faith Williams, Khrista Southerland, Kim Henderson, Russell Henderson, Kaitlyn Lloyd, Loren Blessing, Anthony (Chassidy) McClung, and Jordan McClung; great-grandchildren, Na’Caiya, Alexis, A’Million, Trevor, Tucker, Na’Rhia, Jayla, Akeem, Darren, Amarian, Destiny, Emma, Aleah, Hayden, Charleigh, Yasmine, Ja’Mya, Jazzlyn, Katie-Mae, Pierce, Chandler, Liam, Martel, Royce, Jed, and Myles “Bubba”; brothers, Richard Blades of Marion and Robert “Butch” (Lisa) Blades of Marion; sisters, Linda (Danny) Paschal of Marion and Joyce Blades of Marion; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and best friend, Linda Stevens.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” Dean Blades, Sr.; grandson, Lee Allen Lloyd; granddaughter, Ja’Naya Westbrook; and brother, Jerry (Janet) Blades.

The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Dixie’s life will begin at 2:00 pm. Rev. Larry Batchelor will be officiating with burial taking place at Grant Memorial Park.
