Dennis Gregory Gyger, 79, Fairmount, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Marion Health. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Saturday, March 18, 1944, to Paul and Mary (Callahan) Gyger. On May 17, 1975 he married Gail Kraus, and she survives.
Greg graduated from Holy Spirit Catholic School in Indianapolis. He proudly served in the Vietnam War as a United States Marine. He worked at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis for several years until he retired. He loved riding his Harley and camping. More than anything, Greg loved his family.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Gail Gyger; children, Ericka (Troy) Jeffries, David (Tracey) Fair and Todd (Renee) Fair; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; and his dog, Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, one nephew, and one great-nephew.
The family will receive visitors from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Service 400 E. Main St., Gas City, In.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Greg’s life will begin at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
