DeeLene “Dee” Henson, 74, Gas City, passed away at 5:07 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Marion Health. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Wednesday, August 4, 1948, to Vern and Bernice (Harris) Rumple. She married Douglas L. Henson, and he preceded her.
Dee graduated from Mississinewa Community Schools and worked at Watt Publishing. She attended First Baptist Church in Gas City. She enjoyed reading books and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Survivors include her son, Todd (Amy) Henson of Gas City; daughter, Leslie (Allen Buck, Jr.) Henson of Gas City; sister, Lana (David) Pattison; sister-in-law, Peg Rumple; grandchildren, Tashonia Henson, Todd (Bella) Henson II, Carrie (Alex) Henson, and Zachary Buck; great-grandchildren, JoHannah, Lincoln, Declyn, Haisley, Layla, Emberlyn, and baby Henson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Vern (Bernice) Rumple; brother, Terry Rumple; sister, Rhea (John) Dodson; and granddaughter, Stephanie Buck.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Dee’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Storey Chapel. Pastor Jeffries of First Baptist Church will be officiating with burial following at Riverside Cemetery.
