David W. Cummings

David W. Cummings, 70, of rural Roann, Indiana, died Thursday morning, September 12, 2019 at his home. He was born November 4, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to Wayne and Irene Marie (Flint) Cummings.

David was a 1966 graduate of Wabash High School and attended Ball State University. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He married Brenda “Cricket” Wilcox in Wabash on April 21, 1973. David retired from Thermafiber in Wabash after 43 years. He was a member of the Wabash VFW Post 286. David enjoyed golfing, playing poker and shooting pool with friends, music, the outdoors, and especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda “Cricket” Cummings of Roann, two children, Lisa (John) Krueckeberg of LaPorte, Indiana, and Joseph (Austin Dreyer) Cummings of Seattle, Washington, granddaughter, Lily Jade Krueckeberg of LaPorte, his sister, Nancy Cummings Christman of Liberty Hill, Texas, mother-in-law, Rhea Wilcox of Wabash, two sisters-in-law, Tamara (Mike) Chapman of Bloomingdale, Indiana and Marta (Gary) Gidley, of Wabash and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol Cummings Showalter.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-7 pm Monday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Wabash V.F.W Post 286.
