David T. Gamble, age 70, of Huntington, passed away Friday, April 20,2018, at 10:29 pm at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1966 and served in the US Army in Vietnam, where he earned the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars. He was a lifetime member of Huntington VFW Post #2689 and the American Legion.
David was born October 4, 1947, in Huntington, the son of James and Laura (Bradshaw) Gamble. On January 29, 1977, he married his beloved wife of 40 years Patricia Garrison in Huntington and she passed away August 19, 2017. He is survived by 2 daughters Gina R. (Kevin) Yonkman of Fort Wayne, and Nicole (Jeff) Smith of Macy, a step- son Harry R. Crawford of Cedar Park, Texas, a step-daughter Loraine (Curt) Juergans of Huntington, 6 grandchildren Jordan, Brendan, Sarah, Damon, Tia, and Jason, 4 great-grandchildren, and a sister Janelle (Tom) Gates. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Kimberly Rowe.
Visitation will be held Wednesday April 25, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Deal-Rice Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel preceding the 1:00 pm graveside service at Marion National Cemetery. VFW Post #2689 will provide military graveside honors.
