David Lee Stevens

David Lee Stevens, 76, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 11:42 am, Friday, February 16, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  He was born on January 19, 1948, in Wabash, to Max L. and Mary B. (Clark) Stevens.

Dave was a graduate of Wabash High School and Ball State University. He married Virginia “Ginni” Goad at the Corinth United Methodist Church in Muncie, Indiana on July 19, 1969. He owned and operated Stevens Marketing Services. Dave was a member of the Wabash Christian Church, the Wabash Elks Lodge, where he was a past Exalted Ruler, a 50 year member of the Hanna Masonic Lodge #61, a 25 year member of the Sons of the American Legion, and a life member of the American Waterworks Association. He loved music and enjoyed playing the trombone. He was a cat lover, and also enjoyed golfing, swimming in his backyard pool, and going on cruises. He and Ginni went on 55 cruises together.  

He is survived by his wife, Ginni Stevens of Wabash; and three brothers-in-law, Gary Rust of Wabash, Vic (Flo Douglas) Goad of Fishers, Indiana, and Virgil (Judy) Goad Jr. of Greenwood, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sheryl Rust.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Ron Zorn officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum, Wabash.  Friends may call 5-7 pm Wednesday, at the funeral home, concluding with an Elks Remembrance Service at 7:00 pm. There will also be visitation from 1-2 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is the Animal Shelter of Wabash County.
