David A. Weber

David A. Weber, 64, of Jonesboro, Indiana died, Sunday, April 22, 2018 after a long illness.

David was born in Marion, Indiana on February 7, 1954, son of the late Leon and Phyllis (Smith) Weber. David graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1973 and attended Lincoln Tec. He was a member of Eastview Wesleyan Church and was active in the Marion Easter Pagent. David was a former Member of the Mill Township Fire Department where he was an assistant chief, certified arson investigator and scuba diver. He was the former owner of Weber’s Salvage Yard in Marion and had worked for the Grant County Sheriff’s Department as a Jail Officer. He enjoyed attending the Gas City Concerts in the Park.

David is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rebecca (Shanks) of Jonesboro, sons; David CG and Charles Steven Weber both of Gas City, beloved granddaughter, Brooklyn Weber, nephew, Michael J. Weber, mother-in-law Penny Benedict, Fairmount, sisters-in-law, Kathy Kuehner, Jonesboro, and Julia (Don) Harter, Fairmount, great nephew Aden Wayne Leon Weber and great niece, Kylee Michelle Weber

David was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Phyllis Weber, sister, Connie Weber, grandparents Cleo and Geneva Weber and Warren and Charlene Smith, and father-in-law Andrew Benedict.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Visitation will be held at Eastview Wesleyan Church, 414 N. 10th Street, Gas City, Indiana on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.

Funeral service is at Eastview Wesleyan Church with Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 10 AM.   Burial with graveside service will follow at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.
