Darryl M. Woods, 56, Marion, passed away in his home at 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 15, 1961, to the late Charles and Ora (Beard) Woods. Darryl married Robin Woodard, and she preceded him in death in 1993.
Darryl was a graduate of Curtis High School in Chicago and a veteran of the Army Reserve. He loved music and fishing and will be remembered for how much he lived life to the fullest.
He is survived by his children, Robert Woods, Marion, Chanita (Phillip) Barnes, Marion, and Darryl (Marquetta) Woods, Jr., Kansas; 12 grandchildren, Kiontaye Woods, Kaylea Dorsey, Juan Woods, Dijon Woods, Robin Woods, Phyllis Barnes, Paris Barnes, Diamonte Woods, Jayon Woods, Nehemiah Woods, Laytavion Woods, and Dermond Hervey; 2 great-grandchildren, Leilani Woods and Jersey Woods; siblings, Kavan Woods, Charlette Bright-Jackson, Forest Woods, Charles Woods Jr., Evelyn Jibowu, and Ivery Willis; and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with Darryl’s funeral service beginning at 12 noon on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Grant Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
