Darrell Trexler

Darrell Trexler, 75, of Peru, passed away at home on Monday, September 17, 2018, after a long battle with lung cancer and COPD.

He liked the outdoors, camping, and fishing.

He was born in Peru on March 10, 1943 to Cecil Trexler Sr. and Vonda Correll Trexler.

He was married in February 1965 in Peru to Judith “Kit” Conrad. They had a son, Rodney and a daughter, Kristi.

In 1974, in Reno, NV he married Terrene Moran Wilkerson. They had a son, Jeffrey. Darrell had previously lived in Redwood City, CA, Reno, NV, and Black Mountain, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Michael Trexler and Ronald Trexler, his sister Barbara Miller, and first wife Judith “Kit” Conrad.

He is survived by his long-time friend, Dennis Taylor, his son, Rodney (Nena) Trexler, of Logansport, daughter Kristi Thompson, Reno, NV, son, Jeffrey Trexler, Oregon, and two brothers, David (Karen) Trexler of Peru, and Cecil Jr. (Gloria) Trexler of Myrtle Beach, SC.

He has two granddaughters, Erika Richardson and Brianna Cano, both of Reno, NV, and two grandsons Corbin Trexler, West Lafayette, and Zachary (Emily) Trexler of Logansport.

He has numerous nieces and nephews (John Trexler, Denise Hickman, Tammy Wise, Cecilia Hartman, Sherry Cox, Rodger Miller, Michael Miller)

A memorial service for Darrell will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Zion Chapel Church, 915 South Broadway, Peru, Indiana, from 4pm to 6pm, with Pastor Rodney Correll officiating.  Love offerings may be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expense.
