Daniel Paul “Buck” Denney, 73, Marion, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at his home in Marion. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on August 17, 1948, to Nelson and Helen (Timmons) Denney. On October 28, 1977, he married Diana Trotter, who survives.

Buck proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked as a contractor throughout the Grant County area. His greatest passion was restoring old cars, and he had a love for old model trains. He loved hunting, especially coon and squirrel hunting. He also loved horses and enjoyed fishing. In his younger years, he loved motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Diana Denney; children, Debra Powell, Julie (Joel) Cooper, Ivy (Michael) Disher, Sharon (Andy) Roan, Nyoka Denney, and Angela “Little Red” (Matt) Byers; 15 grandchildren; 5 special grandchildren, Sabrina Simpson, Ceara Denney, Paul Stephney, Jr., Breahna Simpson, and Tanner Brown; several great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ada “Bertie” Hawkins, Bessie Flynn, Zoletta Fear, and Debbie Jo Tackett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 grandchildren; brothers, Nelson Denney, David Denney, Jessie Denney, Raymond Denney, Joseph Butch Denney, and Clyde Denney; and nephews, Ronnie Ray Flynn, Jr., and Troy Michael Fear.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Buck’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
