Dan Fisher

Dan Fisher, age 61, of Huntington, died at 10:54 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at VA Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Jim Splawn officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to American Legion Post #7 (for the annual Huntington fireworks display), in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Dan was born on August 11, 1957 in Huntington, the son of Steve and Betty (Sprowl) Fisher. He served in the United States Marines for three years. He married Jennifer Harder on October 23, 2004 in Huntington. He worked as a mechanic for the City of Huntington in the Garage Department. He was a member of American Legion Post #7 in Huntington, where he was in charge of Huntington’s Independence Day fireworks celebration and was a pyro technician for the event from 2004-2018.

Survivors include his wife Jennifer Fisher of Huntington, his father, Steve (Diane) Fisher of Markle, a son, Eric Fisher of Churubusco, Danielle Fisher Case and Laura (Joel) Ray, both of Huntington, and Andrea (Mike) Kamaka of Fort Wayne, 15 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Rick Fisher of Heber, Arizona, Mike Fisher of Huntington, Greg Fisher of Westville, and David Fisher of Huntington and sisters Marion Kay (Kevin) Ray of Huntington, Jane Ripley of Treasure Island, Florida, and Cynthia (Shawn) McCutcheon of Prescott, Arizona. His mother precedes him in death.
