Dale a A. King

Dalena A. King, 61, Marion, passed away at 4:42 a.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  She was born in Ohio on August 24, 1957, to Thomas and Martha (Adams) Foster.  On February 14, 2005, she married Vance D. King, and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2013.

Dalena was a 1975 graduate of Mississinewa High School.  She was a nurse’s aide at the Marion VA Hospital for three years before retiring in 1989 and then volunteered at the VA following her retirement.  She enjoyed bowling and machine bowling but, most of all, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Foster, Marion; grandchildren, Corey Edwards, Courtney Edwards, Coryiah Edwards, Anastasia Fischer, and Antonio Brown, Jr.; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Timothy Lynch, Elkhart; half-sister, Jeanie Stare, LaFontaine; a host of nieces and nephews; best friends, Barb Hoke, Marion, and Ella Henderson, Fort Wayne; and her dog, Bubba.

The family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with Dalena’s funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.  Pastor David Morris will be officiating with burial following at Marion National Cemetery.
