Constance M. “Connie” Story Rosen

Constance M. “Connie” Story Rosen, 86, of rural Urbana, Indiana, died at 11:45 am, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born June 19, 1931 in Silver Lake, Indiana to Fred E. and Doratha (Drudge) Clark.

Connie was a 1949 graduate of Linlawn High School. She first married Truman Story on September 3, 1949; he died on December 12, 1988. She then married James E. “Jim” Rosen on December 19, 1993, in Wabash. She worked at Wabash Magnetics, and was the V.P. of Operations and Administrative Services for Jefferson Medical Rehab, of Lexington, Kentucky, starting as secretary and working her way up to Vice President. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a former member of the Wabash Rotary Club. Connie enjoyed embroidering and dancing. She and Truman taught square dancing, swing, and ballroom dancing. She also enjoyed learning about the inner workings of the farm from Jim.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Rosen of Urbana; two daughters, Vicki (Steve) Furnas of Wabash, and Roxanne (Dan) Haupert of North Manchester, Indiana; three step-children, Jay (Nicole) Rosen of Lafayette, Indiana, Jon (Beth) Rosen of North Manchester, and Jama (Gary) Fry of Fort Wayne, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Carolyn (Bill) Bennett of Plymouth, Indiana, Jarolyn Fyhrlund of Sterling, Illinois, and Dianna (Arlan) Kendall of Wabash. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Jonathan Basile officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8 pm Monday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are Christ United Methodist Church or St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
