Conrad (Stubby) Etherington, 86, was a long-time resident of Mt Etna, Indiana. He was born on Sept 10, 1933 in Howard County, IN to John M. and Vergie O (Murphy) Etherington. He died on August 15, 2018 at Tipton Place in Huntington, IN after a short illness. Conrad married to Norma (Carter) Etherington June 25th, 1959, she passed on Dec 4, 2015 He became a 59 year member of I.U.O.E Local 103 in joining in 1959 and the proprietor of Stub’s Tree Removal for many years. He was a long-time member of Lancaster Wesleyan Church and after retirement he and his wife volunteered at Hephzibah Children’s Home in Macon, Georgia for many years.
He is survived by his three boys Benjamin (New York City), Bart (Huntington) and Carter (San Francisco) and his sister Sandy (Rod) Alspaugh.
He was preceded in death by siblings Mary Jane Etherington, Marjorie Dyer, John M. Etherington Jr, Sue Shepherd, Linda Lou Etherington, Elaine Quinn and Larry E. Etherington.
In honoring Conrad’s wishes, his body was donated to the IU Anatomical Education Program. A Memorial Service will be set for a later date.
