Connie Sue (Parks) Chaplin, 67, of Marion, Indiana died Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Marion General Hospital.
Connie was born on February 4, 1951, daughter of the late Louis F. and Eunice C. (Barnes) Parks. She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1969 and received a Associates Degree from Indiana Business College. She married John E. Chaplin Jr. on September 9, 1972 at Sweetser Wesleyan Church. Connie was an office manager at Crawford Insurance Company for 20 years and retired from the Grant County Extension Office after 18 years where she was also an office manager. She loved being a grandma, reading doing puzzles and watching Days of Our Lives and was a Master Gardener. She and John enjoyed traveling and took approximately 20 bus tours throughout the U.S.
Connie is survived by her husband John, daughter, Shannon Reed, Marion, son, Todd (Samantha) Chaplin, White, GA, grandchildren; Kennedy Reed, Marion, Andrew Chaplin, White, GA, and Brentney (John) Perry, Gas City, great-grandchildren Keaton Miller and Jase Perry, brothers; Jerry (Penny Oates) Parks, Cypress, FL, and James (Judy) Parks, Jonesboro, special friend, Neda JoAnn (Ned) Neubauer, Marion, mother-in-law, Ruth Anna Chaplin, Marion.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law John Chaplin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where visitation will be on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 2-6 PM. Funeral services celebrating Connie’s life will be on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 10 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Marion, IN.
