Cody Dean Drake, 62, of Peru, Indiana, died at 12:18 am, Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on September 18, 1960, in Wabash, Indiana, to Sally Sue (Brown) Johnson.
Cody was a 1978 graduate of Central High School in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was a US Army veteran serving in Desert Storm and also was a truck driver. Cody was quite the artist, and enjoyed model building, fishing, and military history.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Sally and William Johnson of Peru; three children, Randall James (Carmen) Drake of Oklahoma, Jeffery Maxwell (Epiphany) Drake of Virginia, and Kaylen Irene (Skylar) Hinson of West Virginia, five grandchildren, Nylah, Gavin, Ayden, Ezra, and Vivian; and brothers and sister, Eric (Peggy) Drake of Peru, Curtis (Sandy) Drake and Valerie (Scott) Goodnick, both of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife Holly Drake.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Father Jay Horning officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 10-11:00 am Thursday, at the funeral home.
