Clarence (Tip / Skip) Edward Owen, 80, of Wabash passed away at 9:16am on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Wabash County on August 22, 1937 to Clarence and Florence (Gordon) Owen. Skip served in the United States Army from April, 1955 thru April, 1958, leaving with an honorable discharge. He married Betty on December 3, 1960. She preceded him in death in 2015. He married Chris on July 5, 1986. She survives. He worked in the family cab business, worked at Memcor, Square D, and retired from REMC in 1992. He subsequently worked at Pizza My Way on and off until retiring. Skip enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and spending time with his family. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Chris Owen, as well as his children: Terri (Kevin) Hooker of Grand Rapids, MI, Dale Owen of Peru, Skipper Owen of Peru, Beth Seegert of Canton, MI, Traci Mudd of Peru, Jennifer (Mike) Burnett of Bunker Hill, Billy (Nancy) Coffman of Wabash, Mandi Hartleroad of Bunker Hill, and Josh Coffman of Wabash. Also surviving are grandkids: Steven, Tiffany, Corson, Kiernan, Isabella, Jami, Hannah, Marianna, Kourtney, Devin, Braxton, Bam-Bam, Waylon, Alex, Abi, Cody, and Madison; plus ten great-grandchildren, and three greats on the way. Also surviving are one brother Dick (Betty) Owen of Texas, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Sandy Baldwin and Joanne Moore.
Visitation will be held from 3pm to 5pm on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 5pm, with Pastor Todd Masters and Pastor Cledies Holbrook officiating. Military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team. Memorial donations may be made to the family through the funeral home.
