Carolyn S. Porter, 84, Marion, passed away at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in her home. She was born in Fairmount, Indiana, on Tuesday, August 15, 1939, to John and Florence (Jewell) Miller. She was married to Lowell Porter, who preceded her in death.
Carolyn graduated from Fairmount High School and was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of Calvary Social Brethren Church and later attended Friendship Baptist Church. She loved playing the piano, especially at church, and was the church secretary for many years. Carolyn enjoyed making floral arrangements, reading, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Robin (Darl) Rennaker of Marion, Brenda (Roger) Reno of Fairmount, Jeffrey Porter of Marion, and Amy (Shannon) Sparks of Wawaka; grandchildren, Teairah (AJ) Coffee of Swayzee, Kirk (Jillian) Rennaker of Fort Wayne, Megan (Travis) Isenbarger of Lafayette, Ryan Porter of Marion, and Ashley (Scott) Wallace of LaFontaine; great-grandchildren, Kinleigh Coffee, Charlie Coffee, Sarah Rennaker, James Rennaker, Austin Rennaker, Tanner Isenbarger, Everly Isenbarger, Harbor Wallace, and Ridge Wallace; sister, Arlene McGraw; brothers, John Miller, George Miller, and Leroy Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Rodney Miller, Mervil K. Miller, and Bruce Miller; and sisters, Gertrude Jordan and Ellen Downham.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Matthew Castle officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
