Carole Ann Drook, 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died at 10:34 pm, Sunday, September 24, 2023, at her home. She was born on April 24, 1936, in Bippus, Indiana, to Arthur “Paul” and Dorothy (Wetters) Horning.
Carole was a 1954 graduate of Marion High School in Marion, Indiana. She married Larry Drook at the Somerset Methodist Church in Somerset, Indiana on March 22, 1958. She retired from Wabash County Hospital. Carole was a member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Somerset, and the D.A.R. She enjoyed candle making, basket making, rug hooking, studying genealogy, and was a seamstress. Carole lived in Wabash County from 1958-1995, and in Fort Wayne the past 18 years, coming from Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Drook of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Julie (Rod) Oser of Fort Wayne, and Karen Drook of Fishers, Indiana; and her granddaughter, Olivia Oser of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jane Pulley and Marilyn Sparks.
Graveside services and inurnment will be 11:00 am, Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Mississinewa Cemetery, with Pastor John Cook officiating. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
Preferred memorial is Woodlawn United Methodist Church.
