Carol Jo Butler, 66, North Manchester, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her family on October 28, 2023. The daughter of William Henry and Geraldine Virginia (Harmon) Machmer, Carol was born on January 19, 1957, in Wabash.
After attending Wabash High School, Carol married Kim W. Butler on October 5, 1974. A staple in the North Manchester community, Carol worked at Invensys Controls for many years before obtaining her real estate license. She worked for Century 21 Real Estate as a licensed agent before owning and operating Hoosier 1 Realty. She later went to work for Terrell Realty Group as well and took great pride in helping people find a home in which to make lifelong memories. Carol enjoyed being social and helping others. Her fun, caring nature made her a great real estate agent and an even better person. She was a member of Laketon American Legion Auxiliary Sunset Post 402 and North Manchester Moose Lodge 1518.
The loving memory of Carol Jo Butler will be forever cherished by her husband of forty-nine years, Kim W. Butler, North Manchester; son, Shawn (Kelly Keeling) Butler, North Manchester; daughter, Tara Butler, Austin, Texas; brother, Dennis (Darleen) Machmer, Mesa, Arizona; mother-in-law, Thelma Butler, Laketon; and granddaughter, Paris Butler. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, William and Geraldine Machmer, and sister, Sherry Lynne Hyden.
Family and friends may call Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. A celebration to honor the life of Carol Butler will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
