Trooper David Kewish promoted to Detective

WABASH COUNTY, IN- Recently, Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter announced the promotion of Trooper David Kewish to the position of detective. Detective Kewish will serve in the Intelligence and Investigative Technologies Section, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Detective Kewish received his promotion through written testing, job performance evaluations, and a competitive selection process. Detective Kewish is a 7-year veteran of the Indiana State Police. In October 2016, Kewish graduated from the 76th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was appointed as a trooper to the Fort Wayne District, where he primarily worked in Huntington County. In February 2018, Kewish transferred to the Indiana State Police Peru District and worked road patrol primarily in Wabash County.

Kewish has pursued additional responsibilities as a current ISP Tactical Intervention Platoon member and a Drug Recognition Expert. Kewish additionally serves as a background investigator, Field Training Officer, and director of an Indiana Youth Law Enforcement Summer Camp put on by the Indiana State Police.

He is a 2009 graduate of Huntington North High School, Huntington, IN. Detective Kewish is married and lives in Wabash County with his wife and three children.
