Byron Beck

Byron Beck, 86, passed away at 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018.  He was born in Hope, Indiana, to Mary Alice Beck-White and Theodric Romaine Beck.

Byron served in the Army during the Korean War.   He graduated from Franklin College with honors, Magna Cum Laude, Alpha, and Blue Key, and received a degree in Economics.  He continued his education at I.U., where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration.  Byron worked at Whirlpool in Evansville, Indiana, Phillips Industries in Dayton, Ohio, and Feddars Corp. in East Brunswick, New Jersey.  He retired from Gen Corp. in Marion.

After retirement, Byron was an active member of the community.  He was on the board and President of Family Services.  Additionally, he was on the board and President of Carey Services.  He was a member of Meshingomesia Country Club, Elks, and Rotary Club.

Byron was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast.  His favorites were the New York Sunday Times and USA Today.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta; sons, Randall and Kevin (Meggan); granddaughter, Mila; brother, Morris; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Todd, Don, and Jim, and a sister, Collene.

Private services will be held at a later date.
