Buddy Jones, 58, of Marion, passed away at 6:02 pm on Friday, September 17, 2021, in his home. He was born in Marion on February 27, 1963, to James and Rosie (Pavlick) Jones. On December 25, 2020, he was engaged to Brenda Gifford, and she survives.
Buddy worked as a truck driver for several years with Summit Express Trucking in Fort Wayne, and he previously worked at Chuck’s Sewer and Drain.
Buddy was a member of ABATE, and he loved riding his Harley. He liked anything with an engine and had owned several boats over the years including a houseboat. He was an avid golfer and liked being outdoors. Buddy played and coached sports in his younger years. He also enjoyed teaching others to water ski. Buddy will be remembered as a fun-loving, hard-working, and friendly thrill-seeker who will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his fianceé, Brenda Gifford of Marion; mother, Rosie Alvarado of Marion; step-father, Jose Alvarado of Marion; sons, Jeffrey Jones of Marion and Jacoby Jones of Marion; daughters, Josey Till of Carmel and Jade (Deon Moore) Jones of Warsaw; son-in-law, Zach Till of Fort Wayne; brother, Jimmy (Amanda) Jones of TX; sister, Jodi Jones of Marion; niece, Taylor Jones of TX; nephews, Michael Jones of TX, Josh Jones of TX, and Caleb Hodge of Marion; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, step-son, Ty Gifford; step-daughter, Danya (Zach) Dodd; as well as several friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Jones.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Buddy’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the funeral home. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with entombment following at Grant Memorial Park.
