Betty Jane Hawkins, 95, LaFontaine, passed away at 12:28 am on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Rolling Meadows Health & Rehabilitation Center in LaFontaine. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Sunday, February 5, 1928, to Oliver and Cyrena (McKinney) Legg. She was married to Herbert Lee Hawkins, who preceded her in death.
Before her retirement, Betty worked in Production with US Packaging. When she wasn’t traveling, she liked knitting, reading, and the company of her cat.
Survivors include her daughters, Vicki Sue (Gary) Herring of LaFontaine and Toni Kay Porter of LaFontaine.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael Eugene Williams.
The family will have a graveside service at 11:00 am on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Grant Memorial Park, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.
